Education Site Audit & Information Architecture Restructuring
ORIGO Education x XDS
ORIGO Education came to us [my agency] with an initial ask for a comprehensive UX audit of their e-commerce math education product site. Their previous website held a treasure trove of useful product information hidden away within a convoluted information architecture. I focused my audit on how to consolidate different KPI paths & user journeys within convoluted product & content page flows. The audit findings lead into a full website re-design with established conversion KPIs we were aiming to improve. The marketing department at ORIGO was also ready to make some large-scale organizational changes — while our initial ask was to improve the e-commerce experience, the ORIGO executive team decided to switch to an online catalogue, making their new primary KPI a lead-gen form. I pivoted to create templates that focused on a boutique catalog experience, taking attention off of smaller e-commerce sales & onto ORIGO’s core products. See sitemap iterations below.
Similar to other UX audits & templated solutions we’ve worked on, we created a module-based template system that consolidate visual language used across the site. The XDS design team brought the ORIGO brand to life by bringing the client’s existing characters to the fore-front of our designs.
The XDS development team collaborated with UX & Art to create the templates & modules within a WordPress CMS. These solutions met the client’s need for flexibility while maintaining our refreshed brand standards. With the decision to shift from e-commerce KPIs to form lead-gen, our CRM strategy team jumped in to overhaul the existing CRM structures. Combining a fresh new website with a powerful CRM engine & email strategy will empower ORIGO to move into this next phase of business goals.
